Event: “Art for a Cause” – June 5, 2013 in NYC

Looking for a family-friendly opportunity to enjoy unique art and support a good cause at the same time? The Metro Moms are looking forward to attending “Art for a Cause” on Wednesday, June 5th from 7-10pm at AppNexus Gallery on 28 West 23rd Street between 5th and 6th Avenues in New York City.

The artwork featured for sale and auction includes photography created by talented children 12-19 years old living in challenging circumstances (orphanages, shelters, favelas) around the world.  The children received donated cameras and regularly participate in art and photography workshops taught by travelers. The resulting photographs are inspiring, poetic and joyful. Countries featured at the event are Mexico, Colombia, Brazil, Panama, China, Thailand, Ethiopia, Malawi, South Africa and USA and Canada.
