Saturday Selections: Pirates & Hot Air

The Metro Moms are looking forward to a busy summer weekend. Here are our top picks:

  • It’s Talk Like a Pirate weekend in Jersey City with outdoor performances of The Pirates of Penzance at 4pm on Saturday, July 28 and Sunday, July 29th. You can purchase tickets here and or visit the Theater Company website.
  • Introduce your kids to woodworking at free Lowes Build and Grow Kids Clinics this Saturday, July 28th at 10 am and Sunday, July 29th at 2pm. Build a wood Kung Fu Stacking Friends toy and take home a free woodworking kit complete with apron and goggles. Details are at the Lowes website.
  • Take the kids on a hot air balloon ride at the 30th annual Festival of Ballooning an hour from Hoboken in Readington, NJ. Open Saturday, July 28 from 6am-10pm and Sunday, July 29th from 6am-8pm, the festival features rides, activities, arts and crafts, food and concerts.
