On Saturday, March 24, over 400 parents and children met at 301 Garden Street in Hoboken, NJ to sample products and services from 43 exhibitors. Kids enjoyed a live music performance by Preschool of Rock, robotic legos with Bricks 4 Kidz, and face painting by Weichert Realtors. Parents attended workshops hosted by Silicon Valley insider Dustin Weeks and career coach Johanna Seppalainen to discuss launching businesses and transitioning to family-friendly jobs.

Delicious treats were the order of the day. Christopher Street Cookies and Cocoa Bakery provided generous free samples of cookies and cupcakes. Along with gourmet chocolates from Chic Chocs and healthy wraps by Yipson Foods (choice of vegetarian spring roll or turkey), families were kept well-supplied throughout the four-hour event. Sponsors included Andy Denny Home Repair, Bin There Store That and PromptMD Urgent Care.

Since 2011, the Metro Moms Network has been hosting biannual events to showcase a wide variety of family-oriented businesses that ease the burdens of urban parenting. An offshoot of the 350-member Metro Moms Consulting Network, the annual Metro Mom Expo is designed to launch new businesses and growing existing ones. With double the attendance of the 2011 event, the 2012 Expo was well received by both exhibitors and attendees. Comments included, “I’ve never seen anything like it,” and “Totally worth coming out today.”

Metro Moms preferred vendors receive priority placement at the annual Expo and Halloween party (one vendor per product category). Want to become a preferred vendor? Attend a free catered Mom Consulting Network meeting or email us at info@metromoms.net to discuss partnership. For the Metro Moms, it’s all about personal relationships because we only promote products and businesses that we believe in.
